Paramount to all that we do at Good Tidings is
safety. At
Good Tidings safety is more than a management philosophy or an
operational protocol. Safety is a cornerstone of our theology. At Good
Tidings safety is a part of our ministry calling, a part of
our
"theology of management." As a part of our "THEOLOGY OF MANAGEMENT" we
consider it a high calling when groups of individuals entrust
their well being to us in outdoor adventure, ministry meetings, and
activity sessions.
We pledge an absolute unwavering
commitment to
overall safety based upon an ardent adherence to the practice of safe
recreational activities. At Good Tidings, nothing is more important
than the safety of your group members when you come on site. We pledge
to do all that we can, even when it becomes unpopular or at times an
inconvenience, to initiate any measure that will insure the safety of
the individuals within your family or group.
As good as we presently are in this arena, we pledge enhanced policies and procedures that will only improve upon our ability to deliver safe recreation to you and your groups.
We seek financial accountability to the public and
to the
ministries that we serve. This includes a Biblical perspective and
accountability in the area of financial responsibility.
Our Biblical perspective on financial
accountability derives from an unwavering emphasis on debt free
operation and a conservative management of the resources given to us by
God.
We pledge never to grow at the sacrifice of sound Biblical practices. Our 501C(3) not-for-profit organization will continue to grow in the area of financial accountability and sound ethical practice.
The traditional conferences that have been held throughout the years are a part of the tradition of the ministry here.
WOMEN'S CONFERENCE in the spring,
HUNTER'S
CONFERENCE in the fall, TEEN WINTER CONFERENCE right after
Christmas, has been the history of our conference center
focus.
This year we are adding a fourth conference, our annual FATHER & SON CAMP.
The future will bring more conferences,
and our
board of directors has chosen to enlarge this aspect of our ministry
slowly and carefully. Out intent has been to enhance and to develop the
existing conferences first. We desire to see these great opportunities
better established, better attended, and better promoted before we seek
to increase in the number of our annual conferences.
And so our five year plan is to better
develop
these conferences even while viewing the abundant possibilities of more
conferences in the years to come.
Facilitating the planning and growth of various user groups has been identified by many as what we do best. We prefer to view it as a "gift of hospitality" as we deliver fine dining experiences, clean rooms for solitude and rest, and meeting areas designed to enhance your experience with us.
Our five year plan is to better embrace
your
group(s) with an ever increasing quality of hospitality and food
service. Program activities for your group (fall, winter and spring)
will continue to be improved as we build towards the future.
At present our existing meeting rooms
are of a
quality which we are proud of. And we anticipate adding more meeting
rooms to better serve you in the future.
We anticipate adding a new emphasis upon holiday meals for the public. Many friends of Good Tidings have asked for this as we grow and become more known to the general public.
Our experienced food service staff is
anxious to
increase our service to friends in the area. Even as we continue to
embrace the concept of "humble beginnings," we still anticipate, in the
next five years, that we will be offering mo
re and more holiday meals
to the public who we know and love.
Some of these might include, but not be
limited to: Easter Brunch, Mother's Day Brunch & Dinner, and
others.
Our staff is committed to the powerful impact that
Christian camping has upon all who attend. From the young junior
camper, to the teen campers, to the counselors, and even to the camp
director, all who engage in the outdoor summer camp ministry are
eventually blessed.
We continue to strive to enhance our
summer camping
program. The Gospel of Christ will always be a cornerstone of all that
we do at our camps and we commit to continue to build upon the
ceremonies and traditions that have made Good Tidings Summer Bible Camp
all that it is.
The basic philosophy behind our Outdoor Education
Center
is that anything can be taught better, and made more fun, in the
outdoors. At our O.E. center, we strive to teach the wonder of the
creation to all classes who participate. Our O. E. center continues to
grow as we welcome more Christian schools to Good Tidings each year.
We plan on continuing to offer the
finest
facilities and the finest curriculum possible as we strive to serve the
Christian schools who visit us. We commit to enhancing and
improving our O. E. center in the upcoming years. It is exciting to see
the continued growth in this area.
More and more calls come into our office at Good Tidings for counseling. Presently we are involved with counselors from several communities. This free service we do unto the Lord as we proclaim the power and the wisdom of Biblical counseling. Our camp director and his wife continue to be trained in Biblical counseling through the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors. As a ministry we are pleased to offer Christian counseling at no charge to any who would be in need. This service to our surrounding communities is a part of our five year plan.
Above is a compilation of who we are and the direction(s) we are heading at Good Tidings Bible Conference. While this is an ever changing vision, we sense God's direction and continued leading in these various endeavors. Please call our ministry office for clarification and/or suggestions.
