FROM THE BOARD PRESIDENT—Tim Brown
Greetings and MERRY CHRISTMAS from the board and staff of Good Tidings Bible Fellowship. We hope that you are having a great holiday time and trust that you continually remember the real
reason for the season. With winter closing in, we’re gearing up for winter retreats and conferences.
We have groups already booked for February and anticipate bookings for January coming soon. If you
and your church would like to run a snow camp or winter retreat in January, you’ll want to contact us soon in order to reserve the dates you want.
We believe that God is going to do great things during this 50th year of ministry and are so glad that you are part of it. With our new dorm ready to go, we are praying for at least 60 campers per week during this coming summer of ministry and would greatly appreciate it if you would add your prayers to ours. Also, we can now accommodate groups of 100-120 for retreats or have two groups of 40-60 being ministered to at the same time.
God is continually opening doors of opportunity here at Good Tidings and your prayers and support are what make this ministry possible. Thanks.

SUMMER CAMP—2009
Mike
Ryan—Director’s Assistant
It seems
like Summer Camp is a long way off but the staff at Good Tidings is
already laying the ground work for a wonderful, successful Summer Camp
2009! Awesome guest speakers are being lined up and great
program activities put into the schedule. Horseback riding,
paintball, rifles, bow & arrows, Zoom Flume water park, and
much, much more makes for never-ending choices for good activities
every day. Daily chapel services, camp outs on the mountain under the stars, godly
counselors, Friday night bonfires and Bible memorization make it so our kids not only have a great time but also are fed spiritually while they are here.
Our heart’s desire is to see 2009 Summer Camp full to bursting with kids learning about the love of Jesus Christ and building awesome relationships with other godly kids. From Bible verse memorization to tug of war in the mud-pit, the days at summer camp will hopefully build memories that last for a lifetime.
Of course the main goal is to develop an atmosphere where children can learn of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and come to a saving faith in our wonderful Savior. Please pray for Good Tidings Summer Camp ministry. We have a wonderful opportunity to touch many lives with the love of our Savior.
FATHER & SON CAMP—2008 & 2009
This year’s inaugural Father & Son Camp was a huge success! For a first time event we had 40 fathers and sons attending through a cold October weekend. The leaves on the trees were gorgeous and the fellowship was awesome. The kids had a great time shooting bow and arrows. The rifle range was a popular place for honing in your skills with the 22 match rifles and the weekend ended with the first ever Good Tidings 22 rifle shootout match. It was good fun trying to kill the clay pigeons at the skeet shooting activity. And paintball was a huge success, with many of the sons going home with visions of buying their own paintball gun.Our guest speaker Norm Wakefield of Spirit of Elijah Ministries delivered the Word of God with power and anointing, challenging and encouraging the men to live their lives in accordance with Biblical instruction empowered by the Spirit of God. (Food was pretty good too!)
Everything went so well we decided to add an extra Father & Son Camp in the spring! We are excited about the ministry God is accomplishing through our Father & Son Camp program. Our dates for next year are May 15-17 and October 9-12. Please pray for this vital ministry to the fathers and sons of our country. Biblical manhood is under attack in our generation and the standards for godly men must be continually put forth by the Body of Christ. Good Tidings is happy to be a part of that!

A NOTE FROM MRS. B…As Operations manager, I’m always on the run. I keep to routine and hit the answering machine message button as I rush to unlock the office door. I’ve got one precious hour to attack my perpetual goal of catching up in the office (all who know me are smiling, laughing right now.) It’s been a hard week— hard year—I confess I’m weary and heavy laden.I’m stopped by the voice on the answering machine—it’s our dear friend Sue and she is calling to thank and encourage us. Her words surround me like a down comforter. I am stilled and filled with gratitude and love… and renewed strength. God’s grace… in place… for this day… this hour. Blessed be the name of the Lord. I press on. |
A NOTE FROM MR. B…As Executive Director, as I think on this Christmas season, I’m thankful for all that God has done and is doing—the big things and the little things, the volunteers God brings our way to help out the exact moment it is needed, the individuals who send in $10 per month or more, the staff and board that work hard to make this ministry a success, and for all of you who pray for this ministry. THANKS!We trust that you will have a great holiday season and thank you once again for your support to this ministry. You are a vital part of what God is doing here and on behalf of the staff, Mrs. B and I, I’d like to wish you a Blessed and a Merry Christmas. God bless as you continue to serve Him this coming year. |
